Jeffrey Batt

Jeffrey is a leader and innovator with expertise advising multinational clients and the U.S. government on cyber risk.  

Previously the Head of Cyber Strategy and Large Risk at AmTrust Financial Services, Jeffrey led all large risk underwriting, distribution, and security strategy.  As part of AmTrust’s cyber leadership team, he co-built a cyber insurance and cybersecurity practice from the ground up. 

Prior to AmTrust, Jeffrey was the Cyber Insurance Practice Leader at M&T Bank, where his work focused on providing cyber insurance and risk consulting solutions, and developing new products and cyber risk quantification tools.   Jeffrey also was a VP in Marsh’s Cyber Center of Excellence, where he led client engagement and product development efforts around emerging privacy regulations.

From 2010 to 2016, Jeffrey served as an Associate Deputy General Counsel at the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), where his work focused on novel national security and legal matters.  A graduate of Hamilton College and the Georgetown University Law Center, Jeffrey additionally received a Certificate in Cyber Leadership from the DoD-affiliated National Defense University.  He is currently an Adjunct Professor at the American University Kogod School of Business and at ISDE Law School in Madrid, Spain, where he teaches on cybersecurity governance. 

John Cassidy

John Cassidy is currently a business and strategy advisor for King & Union, but was the former Founder and CEO. John is a 20+ year veteran in information technology and security. John currently supports the strategy and business growth overall at King & Union.

Before starting King & Union, John spent the last twelve years of his career focused on building and developing innovative cyber information sharing platforms, supporting U.S. critical infrastructure companies and missions for DHS, DoD, and the NSA. John built a cyber division within a Fortune 150 corporation into a core $600M+ business practice, providing advanced and classified cyber intelligence sharing services programs for public and private sectors.

John led efforts to develop, and deploy numerous cyber solutions programs, including the first Einstein 3 Accelerated (E3A) solution in partnership with DHS, DoD, and NSA. Recognized Leader in information security, engineering, sales, corporate strategy.

Matt Walnock

Matt is responsible for leading the Development, Quality Assurance, and Operations for King & Union. Backed by 24 years of software development experience, Matt brings a passion for helping people and companies secure their data with innovative software solutions.

Prior to joining King & Union, Matt held CTO, software architecture and development positions with several high tech companies including Parature, NetSec, Ubizen and IBM Tivoli and has been granted six patents.

Matt holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Penn State University.
