Flashpoint Chief Strategy Officer helps shape cybersecurity startup’s future growth strategy, offers support as the firm rolls out new information sharing platform
ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — King & Union, the provider of Avalon, a threat analytics platform built with collaboration at its core, today announced that Chris Camacho is joining its board of advisors. With more than 15 years of cybersecurity leadership experience, Camacho has led initiatives across operational strategy, incident response, threat management and security operations to ensure cyber-risk postures align with business goals. Camacho’s appointment comes on the heels of former DHS undersecretary Suzanne Spaulding joining King & Union’s advisory board as well. In his advisory role, Camacho will deliver strategic counsel based on in-depth industry expertise and provide critical insights to help King & Union achieve unparalleled real-time threat collaboration to outsmart adversaries.
“Camacho brings more than a decade of experience in cybersecurity and entrepreneurial roles, and his security insight and market understanding makes him an integral member of our board,” said John Cassidy, CEO and co-founder of King & Union. “We’re thrilled to have him join our team and feel confident that his breadth of cybersecurity knowledge will help us carry out our vision to increase cyber threat information sharing and unite security analysts across industries.”
As the Chief Strategy Officer at Flashpoint, Camacho is responsible for developing, leading, and implementing cross-functional strategic initiatives across the company. Camacho also serves as CEO for NinjaJobs, a career-matching community for elite cybersecurity talent. Prior to joining Flashpoint, Camacho served as Senior Vice President of Global Information Security at Bank of America and was an active member of the FS-ISAC Threat Intelligence Committee. His technology industry experience spans more than a decade, beginning as Information Security Officer at The World Bank.
“I have witnessed firsthand how lack of collaboration hinders efficiency and efficacy in the security industry. Security professionals are working in silos to tackle threats rather than sharing information – but the time for change is now,” said Camacho. “Unlike its industry counterparts, King & Union takes a collaboration-first approach to security and provides a seamless platform for analysts to share information and investigate threats. The Avalon platform is a true game-changer, and I’m excited to play a role in shaping the technology moving forward.”
